Show notes

Money mindset can make or break a life in the wellness world, and Michael invites Silfath Sophia on the show to talk about it.

Originally from Ivory Coast, Silfath moved to the United States to work as a banker, but took a big leap in 2017 when she started her own business as a fashion stylist. She later moved into Somatic Therapy and Movement for Women, and is now working as a healer and teacher in the wellness space. Silfath lives between Bali and Dubai.

Silfath has been in the entrepreneurial space for about 16 years and shares her experiences on this week’s show. Silfath became a full-time entrepreneur only 3 years after starting her own business. In this episode, Michael and Silfath talk about ‘how to get started’ as an entrepreneur in the wellness space.

Silfath shares about craft versus running a business. She explains that as an entrepreneur it’s essential to refine your craft and acquire the necessary business skills. But also to understand yourself, be aware of your ‘money mindset’, and your beliefs around success.

Silfath and Michael both acknowledge that confidence is essential for someone’s growth as an entrepreneur. Michael emphasizes that building confidence requires getting feedback. Feedback also implies being receptive to whatever is shared with you. Silfath's strategy to grow confidence is having a mentor, a community, a support system, that could help brainstorm with.

Michael and Silfath furthermore discuss the act and dedication to ‘serve’ in the wellness space. Michael wraps-up the conversation by listing the phases of entrepreneurial growth and Silfath shares about the essential foundations on the entrepreneurial journey: money, success, leadership, and being seen and heard.

Silfath also touches upon the relationship with being seen and being heard. She discusses topics around self-sabotage, limiting beliefs, exposure, and cultural conditioning.

This week’s episode is full of entrepreneurial nudges to help you with your ‘money mindset’, and making your dreams happen as an entrepreneur in the wellness space.

Hello. Hello welcome to the podcast. Thank. You so self fat? Actually, we haven't formally met except for today. I believe I've seen you in class several. Yes, I have enjoyed your corrections in class in the hands on adjustments. Yes.

So I think what's going to be best and easiest is for our audience to get to know you by you, possibly introducing yourself, letting them know who you are, where you're from, maybe a little bit of a back story so they know who's behind the mic. Okay so I am originally from Africa. Born and raised in Cote d'Ivoire, West Africa. I studied finance.

Majored in finance in the US and not in the in France, but worked in the US. And then I decided to take the big leap and to start my own business. So 2007 I started being how do I say that the fashion studies or personal studies. So I was teaching women how to own the beauty and you know, their personality for the wardrobe. And then I moved into movement, so I became a somatic therapist and focusing on women.

And then it's evolving to, you know, healing and teaching. Movement is still a big part of what I do, but there are many other layers. So I've been an entrepreneur now and I'm having my own business basically since 2007.

And in 2009, I quit my banking jump to go full time as an entrepreneur. So that's been my journey as an entrepreneur and as a person who wants to serve. Yes, that's beautiful. And that's a long time. That's like 16 years. Yeah.

Entrepreneurial space. Yeah. Most people don't survive that long. I have tough skin. So do you live in Bali? I am between Bali and Dubai. Bali and Dubai okay cool. Like six months, six months or? I like to say Bali's my base, and then I go to Dubai to do activations, and then I come back and I recharge. I get new ideas, new inspiration, and I go back. I do some more.

So it depends. It's six months and six months kind of, yeah. I'm a bit of I love to travel. Yeah, beautiful. I've never been to Dubai, but I hear it's really hot. In particular, right now, especially right now, I like the heat.

Yeah, being from Africa and you get a bit of that as well. Exactly. I love the heat. And yeah, that's not that doesn't disturb me. What disturbed me a little bit in Dubai is there's no nature. That's why I like Bali because. Some people receive a lot from being in the desert, but no, I'm a woman who likes like trees and so yeah, well, Bali must be good for.

That, yeah, great. So I thank you for that introduction. I feel like I got to know you a little bit more as well. And with regards to entrepreneurialship, I think that's something that a lot of our audience can kind of relate with.

Most of them, like I explained before the podcasts, are generally yoga teachers or people who are interested in yoga and either working on themselves. Most of them are women I would say. And also possibly exploring the idea of going out on their own and becoming more of an entrepreneur, whether it be teaching yoga or taking some of the skills that they learned in a yoga teacher training and possibly, you know, spinning in a different direction but ultimately still kind of staying

in the same pot. Yeah, I think one of the challenges that a lot of I want to say entrepreneurs or want to be entrepreneurs face is like what it what what do I do, how do I start like what's you know, it's such a big journey especially, you know, you haven't 16 years somewhat in that space. I've been an entrepreneur for about 7:00 or so. So I can speak to it as well.

But I think it's particular for you. It's mostly in the Wellness. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So. So where do we start? Yeah, My question, I guess my question is, so you've probably learned a lot of lessons. Yeah, yeah. And maybe one of the main questions would be for, you know, let's just imagine the person that's listening for speaking to one person is thinking, well, what do I do to start with regards to entrepreneurial shit?

So I would say, like, if someone does a yoga teacher training and like, I want to teach yoga, but I don't want to work for someone. I want to build my own business, my own brand, and maybe I want to do retreats, or maybe I want to do workshops, or maybe I want to teach online or or something to this effect. Yeah, what would be helpful for them to know? Maybe straight out the gate?

Okay, a couple of awarenesses. There is the craft, what you're offering. And then there is running a business. You can be a brilliant yoga teacher. You can be a brilliant artist or dance teacher. Whatever your medicine is, there is the element of actually running a business.

And so you need to acquire some of the skills or so. And I'm not saying that you need to start doing things like remember when I was a personal stylist, people were telling me you need to go to all those networking event to meet people.

And I was like, that's not my personality. And my personality is not going to an event and giving 20 business cards. That's not the way I operate. So I sat with myself and I was like, OK, so fat, what would feel good to you? And I was like, you know what?

I'm going to connect with a couple of organizational association, one meeting, maybe once a month, twice a month, and build a relationship with these people. And so I was part of a group of women entrepreneurs and also group of professional organizers, professional organizers. Yeah, because professional organizer, they go to people, please American.

It is American. This is the type of thing that you find in America. So basically I was in New York. So what do they do? They go to people place and they help them completely reorganize their space. Yeah. And and so they will get to someone was a huge wardrobe and because they don't have necessary or skill, they'll be like I don't know really what to do with this wardrobe so they will call me.

So there, that was the first thing that you were a professional organizer? No, I was just part of the organization. I see. And then they were sending me clients, yeah. Because I like deeper connection. I don't like to do small talk at random networking event, right.

So you will have to run a business and in running that business you want to understand yourself. You want to acquire the skill and understand yourself. And the other aspect is being aware of your mindset and your belief. What are your beliefs around money? What are your beliefs around success? Because you're going to start running an entrepreneurship business and.

You have a belief that, you know, I give you an example, I work with a woman. She came to me and she said I'm attracting client. They love my work. We do great things. But there is always an issue around paying me. You know, I was like, OK, so I start asking her a question, but what was the relationship with receiving money when you were a child?

What was the relationship in your family with making money? Right. And she was a call. I remember on Saturday morning we'll get in the car, we'll go to the bank with mom. Mom will deposit the money at the bank and then she'll be like, let's go for ice cream.

And I want to be having the ice cream. She will explain to us that in order to make money, you have to work hard and we can afford those beautiful things because we work hard, work hard. And I was, and I was looking at her and I was like, and then I was like, does he feel like hard work when you're coaching? She's like, no, that feels easy.

I'm born like I'm a coach and it's amazing. And so at that moment we pin pound the pinpoint the issue. You are doing something that feels easy to you in your system at a subconscious level, and you're programming. You're not working hard, so you don't deserve to get paid right for. That's the belief.

That's the belief exactly. And so this is what I want to say, like when you start running your business, it's really important to acquire the skill, but to be aware of this background stories also because when you're aware of them, like for me to be honest, I would say that it's only in 2015 that I really turn around my money story, right, so.

It it was like what, 6 years of like literally struggling. And I remember I was part of this women's circle and at one point all of them had done like a wardrobe makeover with me and I remember we're sitting and they were all like still fat.

You are too cheap, like you need to charge more for your time and your energy and what you bring to the table. And I remember back then I said I was charging $75.00 an hour and one of the women was like we need to charge $150.00 an hour ago. $150.00 an hour took me a year to move from 75 to 150, right? Because I had my story.

So this is the the the thing that I want to share is that when you are done with your yoga teacher training and you want to start your business, you're like, OK, I'm going to refine my craft. I'm going to practice and become really juicy and good yoga teacher, but I'm also going to talk with all the yoga teacher, maybe find a mentor.

And as I go on and I start facing certain things or certain type of client, I'm going to be like, what's the underlying conversation here? If you do that work, you can shift really fast. The other advice that I give to most people is don't have a situation where you're relying on that business to make money at the beginning.

If you can develop the business, develop your craft like be like a little bit like in a laboratory. Right. You're doing it. You're learning about, you know, teaching and you're learning about running a business and setting up pricing and all that.

And you can do all that with an energy that is not in survival because at the moment you're in survival you need contraction. So it's more difficult. So even if you can have a small job, being an assistant to someone cares, it doesn't matter it you're doing it. Of course you want to bring presence what you're doing. But the awareness is you building that financial security while you're growing yourself as an entrepreneur, you know? So those are the things that,

yeah, let's unpack some of that. You said a lot of good things. I want to make sure that some of that stuff lands for a few people. So one of the main things you said was craft versus well, you can call it mindset, belief, system, sense of identity. So the craft is very much what we normally speak about on the podcast, very much about developing your skills. Your crap is a yoga teacher or a Wellness professional, depending on what space you might be in,

and this is probably more speaking to the the latter, which should be more the mindset, the belief system, which oftentimes can be related to. I would say the two main ones, and you can correct me if I'm wrong, would be the relationship with money and the relationship with selfworth, which is basically the same thing.

It's the same, yeah. The same, yeah. And so with regards to the other thing that you said, which was making sure to split like, you know, basically instead of completely diving into entrepreneurialship and just kind of feeling like this survival mode, which is kind of like if we're put it in context for a yoga teacher saying like I'm going to quit my day job and teach yoga full time, it's like do, do, do, do, don't do that because it's very unlikely that

she'll be able to sustain a lifestyle or a living as a yoga teacher, especially straight out the gate. And you're trying to acquire so many skills at the same time. Yeah, sorry, I was going to just close the window, so give me one second. Yeah.

OK. OK, there you go. A little intermittent pause, yeah. And then so my thought as well with regards to giving some time, it kind of blends into the craft thing. But if you allow yourself some space so that you're not in this survival mode, like, Oh my God, I need to make it work.

I need to make it work. I need to make it work. Journey. Exactly. You know, it's like, like, for me. Think about it, OK? Now going to speak terms and language that you guys will all understand, right? Nervous system. Why override our nervous system while trying to do so many things at the same time?

Refining your craft first as a space holder is already a process. Yeah, then learning your craft as an entrepreneur is also a process. So why not give yourself space, even if it's a year when you know to? Do all this work, get more clear, see your blind spots, correct them.

And then there is a moment where you have built the confidence in your craft. You have maybe a little bit of network already. You already know some of the teachers that are synergies that are existing and then you go for it, you know. So I always say to people, know yourself. If you know that you some people don't freak out, right? They don't have the money to pay the rent in in in one month and they're like, oh, it's going to be okay, you know that you like that.

Go for it. But if you know that you need a little bit of stability and you're not going, you're going to lose sleep over not having money in the next month. Don't quit your job to go be a yoga teacher. It's going to be such a contracted energy.

And then? Even how can you run a business? You can, but it's just going to be a little bit more hectic, run a successful business and expand in a very in a flow state when you search in contraction. I did it, actually. I didn't do it. When I quit my job, I had lots of saving because I was working in banking.

So I was like, oh, I'm taking the time because, you know, it's a new business. And my business started doing well. And then I decided, you know what, there are so many people doing what I do in the US. I want to go to a place where it's needed.

I'm going to the UAE at that point. I'm still not aware that I have money issues because I had my saving, my business was picking up. So and then I got to the UAE and I get in a market where people are literally, it's like a completely new market.

There were barely yoga studios when I were there, and I'm going and I'm doing all this embodiment, feminine awakening. And it took 3-4 years for things to pick up. So I had that moment where I was like my rent is June 6th week and I don't have the money and I was reality check okay.

So you need to work on your relationship with money. So yeah, that's why I share that now. Yeah, it's a big one. In fact, we could probably talk about that during the entire podcast. This is the relationship with money and self worth.

One of the things that you said, which was related to building confidence, which I think is a very important word when you are doing something on your own. Because when you're an entrepreneur and you're working towards something where you don't have someone telling you to do this, do that.

You're the one doing all those things. And what will often happen, related to self worth or just self doubt is you question a lot of the things that you do and then you think, oh wait, I don't know if that may be this way, maybe that way. And it's a it's an additional variable or factor that can make it really challenging for people. So building confidence is actually quite hard at the beginning.

And I think that the equation for building confidence requires you to actually get feedback from the things that you do. And so basically doing something, taking action and then learning from that action by getting feedback.

And then there's another variable that's really important here. And that's being open to feedback and being receptive to whatever is shared with you. So if you do something and it's not received very well and it's, you know, the feedback has given us to say more than once, which more than once is probably a requirement, then that feedback might tell you maybe something needs to be slightly different or pivot or shift. And I think there's so many variables of mindset here, but feeling like if we make mistakes

when we're on our own or we're an entrepreneur can be very challenging to to affect the self worth as well. Yeah, yeah. But I think what you said, which is really important, is giving yourself time to not be in the survival mode of the nervous system where you're actually having some sort of financial support, whether it be as, you know, your primary job or as parttime job or something else.

Yeah, so that you can cultivate and grow that entrepreneurial self. Because it's hard to get feedback when you're in survival mode. Absolutely, because you're not going to be receptive. You're not going to be receptive, no.

I think what we can share also along my journey, the things that really helped me where that the women entrepreneurship circle I was part of just having this group of women where once a month we'll meet and we'll talk about marketing and sales and pricing and self worth and every time I have a specific topic and share. And having just in relation you say in English, in relation like a brains kind of brainstorming energy and not feeling like I need to figure out everything by

myself because sometimes you have the self doubt also and then you share with other people and like yeah I do this, so I do this, I do this and it just helps you. So having like some kind of community or mastermind, having a mentor, you know, that's really help, that really helps also. Even having like, for me now I have a bunch of colleagues that are coaches also.

Sometimes we just have lunch, we talk and like, oh, Oh yeah, and you just kind of sound bored with them, you know. So having a support system can also really help in terms of building the confidence. I want to. I want to say that for me, practice also help me build confidence, right? Looking at track record, looking at the data, looking at. I remember when I started as a personal stylist, I remember I took 10 clients and I did them for free. And at this time I was still

working in banking, so I didn't need the money. I wanted to understand what do ioffer, what's my craft, what's unique about me, how do they respond at time management, you know it's being and then I said I'm going to do your makeover for free. You just I just need to document and to have a testimonial at the end.

They say great by the time I was done with those ten I was pretty confident okay someone who pays me, I can handle them and I can take care of them, right? So building the confidence is important. There is an element that I want to bring to the conversation that is a bit specific but is I have seen a lot with women entrepreneurs and is the feminine relationship with being seen and being heard.

I have worked with a lot of women who wants to become an entrepreneur, but there is a bit of self sabotaging, there is a bit of limiting their expansion. Then we we start looking a little bit more in the deeper layers and we realized that oh, there is a feeling of being exposed when they're starting to have too much exposure or too much recognition.

And so there is in the psyche of the feminine, the bit of trauma around being seen and being heard, a lot of cultural conditioning. There is still the witch hunt, psych, you know, it's it's a psyche of the feminine. It's not completely safe for me to be out there.

It's not the case for all women, but I would say at least half of the women I have worked with that healing had to happen for them to move to the next level. So would you say that's like? Expressing yourself or speaking up for yourself or just it's almost. Cuz that's that.

To me, that feels like a vulnerable thing to like I'm gonna, I'm gonna express or show myself truly. Or becoming more vulnerable. Yeah, because it's like expressing yourself. I'll give you an example. When I write in Dubai, a few opportunity came to me.

I was asked to do a wardrobe makeover thing and then they like my fashions. There was like, we want you to do some space makeover things. Then I was in a magazine, so all of a sudden I have all these things happening and people will start recognizing me. So I will be somewhere and people will be like, oh, I know you, I met you and I would feel that, you know, like that kind of, you know, and I couldn't first understand what was going on.

And out of subconscious level, what I started doing, I started pushing back. So I had all this stuff happening and all of a sudden silent and then that was happening like literally crickets. You know, I'm like, what's happening here?

So, you know, part of my work is that. So I start dropping in my body, breathing, seeing like what's happening and then what start coming to the surface is there is a fear of being seen right, not feeling safe. And so we will have different version of it.

Some women is just being a voice. You know when your yoga teacher is a float track crafting, you come into your space, you're in a position of authority and you owning that position of holding space which is which might have some layers also there, right. And then you speaking and then you know you might have people recognizing you, asking for your advice or seeking for you and there might be some layers there. And so as women just kind of have a look at on it. If you're a woman, a man can

have it. But I've seen that a lot with women. If you starting, just be aware like how do you feel when you receive compliment? How do you feel when you're the center of the attention When someone come at the end of the class and says oh, it was a great class, you feel a bit unease.

But you know, if people recognize you somewhere, are you comfortable? Ask yourself those questions because it's going to affect how much you're going to allow yourself at a subconscious level, to be successful or to have a reach. To receive and to receive.

The ability to receive extends all the way into money. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Beautiful. I love that Okay. So the money mindset, and I mean anytime it comes up to money mindset because I mean I had to deal with the same thing, I think I probably.

Definitely didn't heal it, but I would say it's it's fairly closely resolved and it has been for about four years for me. But prior to that I like I said before I entrepreneurship for about 7 years. So yeah, there's a chunk of time where I was just like, God, this is hard.

Yeah, right. But building or that that relationship with money or abundance or self worth is really challenging. It is, it is. It is for for many reason. I mean there is many layer. There is one layer around your own self worth, right?

There is a layer around the industry where we are in, right? There is a little bit of that feeling that okay. I'm I'm I'm in a Wellness industry. I'm helping people with their issues. Is that okay to charge people for that am I charging too much am I taking advantage of people trouble or issues or trauma right. So there is the element of your own worth and what you know, your presence, your value, your expertise brings to the table. And then there is the element of

the type of work we actually do where people have a lot of issues like I have heard already like he or shouldn't ask for money. And then my question is, and how do we leave? How do we have a house? How do we buy food? Like if and I always say if I had like a company or someone sponsoring me, I'm happy to do it, you know, And so give me a nice house with a little sea view and the little nice company would deliver me food.

Like every day I have my books, I have my music, I can dance and write and all that. I'm good. So it's just telling people at the end of the day, I think we are important pillars in communities. We are dedicated to service the same way we are putting ourself out there to support the community.

The community wants to pour back into us so that we can keep expanding, so that we can be nourished and that we can keep serving. I have done the burnout thing a couple of time and then my best friends are like, so now how good are you to people? They like to tease me and I had to be like, no seal fat, no, you want to serve, but now you're going to figure out a way to serve that is juicy, that is nourishing and that is expensive.

Now where I'm serving people and they're changing the library that I'm contracting, contracting, contracting because I cannot leave properly and take care of myself. Of course, part of my, you know, as practitioner, we want to keep growing. So keep growing.

If you want to do, if I want to do your yoga teacher training now or if I want to Google to Peru because I'm a medicine woman and the land of Peru is connecting with me for my expansion, I have to go to Pierre to pay a ticket and then, you know, so. But when I come back from that journey, there's another level of awareness expansion for me and for my tribe. Yeah.

So there is a whole work that really we need to do in terms of realizing how important we are to the community and and valuing that, you know, and then each one of us realizing that the community pours into us so that we can serve better.

That's it. Yeah, yeah, beautiful. And I think one of the ways in which that can become cuz it's again, it's still scary. You said a lot of beautiful things. But at the other end people might be saying, yeah, but like, how do I do that?

Or like how do I pursue that? And I think you already kind of mentioned it and I can relate to this as well as just offering. Basically, services for free, to see, to learn, to see how it's received, to give an opportunity for developing the craft, for receiving feedback, to learn like I thought it was this way, but they're saying that they like it this way.

I can do that right? And making those adjustments. I have other things. So this is a little like mindset and subconscious trick. And so some client, what I made them do is create like a brochure with the offering in the price list. Just doing that.

This is what I offer and this is the price, even if you're not ready to share it with people. Just creating that brochure and seeing it a one eye, one hour private session yoga. And right now you're only comfortable charging $75.00 but you put $110.00 right And you just put it somewhere and you breathe into it. You meditate into it.

You sit in front of the mirror and you imagine someone asks you how much are you charging for a private session and you answer that question for one hour private session is $110 And then you see yourself may be shaking a little bit and then wanting to give an explanation right away after.

And then you just train your voice, your fruit shacker, your all your cells in your body to be comfortable giving that answers. Those are little practices but what they build also they anchor more that energy into your field. So that one day you talking to a client and they ask you and you say $110 you know and that's it, it's done and then it has been incurred.

So there are little tricks like that that you can do to help you anchor that self worth energy, but it is a process that's for sure, you know. And I think. Speaking to developing the ability to speak about money, asking for money and just allowing it to be like this is the price if you are in survival mode in the sense of survival for money finances. Like I need to pay rent if I don't get this client or this whatever then right that's felt, that's felt and so that impact energetically the way the person

will respond to it exactly and you are more likely to accept lower amount because at this point you like I just need cash exactly right but. Which lowers yourself or it fuels or enables the story or the belief of yourself worth being less. Exactly.

Exactly. So better to do this work before you depending on that revenue, Yes, because not the not everything is at stake. Yeah. So if you can incur the 110, that's just an example to be concrete. If you anchor the 110 before going on your full entrepreneurial journey, it's better than having which what I did, I did like I needed a year to adjust. It's better than doing it or trying to encourage it when you need money to pay your you know and people feel it. Energetic, of course.

You know, yeah, of course, yeah, It doesn't allow you to be. Well, a couple of things I'd say authentic, in which the purpose of this is I want to help you as opposed to like this is a money exchange exactly leading with money or having the frequency, if you will, about money. It just doesn't resonate well in the space of the room or however you're having this conversation, because there is an underlying energy of fear.

Yes, right. And that's pretty much that and people can feel it. You know there is a in in my feminine secret feminine teaching, one thing that I share with the women is look at money at the seed of creation, Okay. Look at something that allows to birth things, multiply things and plify things right. So when you if you want to be of service, right and you are a yoga teacher, if you ask for $70.00. Now let me clarify something.

Let's not go to extreme because I feel like there is also sometimes some extreme where people become greedy. So but there is a certain amount where you are nourished, you come fully into the space without any survival energy and you can serve fully. And that person has also invested enough that they fully engage in the experience.

And when we both come with those energy, of course the magic that we're going to create together is going to amplify, right. So there is, it's basically I think the main conversation is around money is how do we get out of scarcity and contraction energy into a creation and amplification energy, right.

And sometime I feel like it helps people to look at it this way in terms of demystifying the whole conversation, like it helped demystify the whole conversation. It's like, okay, I get it. But yeah. So then the, the let's just kind of, this is a lot of good stuff, but I want to kind of clean it up or organize it.

We're around 30 minutes or so just with regards to kind of having a brain fart here, but with regards to packaging. I don't wanna say packaging, but maybe the steps or or some sort of phases and which, OK, we're going breaking down.

Yeah, like you talked about, like basically don't quit your day job, you know, start to dip your feet into the pool. Build the confidence. Build the confidence by offering something for free. Whatever it is that you're doing, it's just, say, yoga. Teaching.

Yeah. Being open to feedback, Yeah. Learning from those experiences. Continuing to work on your craft while you're offering these services and then you're not going to be in survival mode because you have that that thing that's reporting you. And then after that, the mindset part, the mindset, right. So as you start, you know, being in the field and being a practitioner or teacher, being aware of the things that are coming up around money, around

being seen around authority and leadership and be like, oh, this keeps happening. I keep being, I keep being uncomfortable or keep hearing this comment, what is that? And then going into a self inquiry and self-awareness so that if there is anything lingering in terms of subconscious belief, you can see them and reprogram them with ease because you're not trying to survive right there.

You're going into self mastery basically, which is amazing. And so you know once you do all that and on top of that you are building a network because as you start teaching you, you have all the practitioners you connect with and clients and so you start building those foundation and then from that place also, yes, a big part of the conversation I think is a conversation around money. I would say money success, leadership slash, no money success leadership being seen,

being heard. Money success leadership being seen, being heard. Like those four often come up in the work that I do with entrepreneur I had, I work with a woman who had a holistic center and the holistic center was not doing so well. And so we went into our bodies scanning where is it coming from?

And then he brought us back to her dad being a very successful businessman and losing everything. Why? Because it was a bit naive. He had all these people around the world basically just, you know, asking money for this or this new deal here.

And he was just giving money away. And then he got betrayed a couple of times and basically lost everything, right? And so the underlying belief that she had was when you are really successful and you start making money, the people around you are not genuinely caring around you and you will get betrayed, right.

So she was basically putting a cap to the evolution of her business because she had that underlying belief. So success, money, leadership, your relationship with authority. And then what was last one, success, one in leadership being seen and being hard for women.

So those are the four things that you kind of want to be on the lookout, yeah. Those are heavy, yeah, because they they'll put part here and there. And what, you know, what I love about is when you have awareness like I said to people like what it took you like 7 years to figure out. You already have like in the on your side at least. And you're like I see you and you address it, you know, that's amazing.

So when you you do all this thing and look at this whole journey as a self mastery, like rising into your power and the awareness of who you are. And then then you enjoy the ride. I agree. I think entrepreneurship is one of the biggest personal growth journeys that anyone can ever take.

It's an initiation, yeah. You get beat up a little bit, it might a little bit. He's probably underselling and to think that you won't, yeah, but but here is. Very unlikely, we'll say. Here is the thing though, the people who are starting now, they have an advantage is that there are so many people like us who have been through the process and sharing about it. So when you really pay attention today and you look for the information, you get a lot of

good awareness that I feel maybe 10 years ago was not as available. Maybe you know with all these layers. I remember when when I started, I'm coming from finance, I made you I went to business cause like one of the top five Business School in France, majority in finance. I was like I find this is my thing. I would have never thought that I have an issue with money, right?

And then, you know, wanted to be an entrepreneur. I look at one of the best. You know, school for entrepreneur was Mary Folio B. School. So I trained. I did that, and the subconscious stuff was there and mine. And that's what I unpacked like, slowly. Yeah.

And I think with regards to those elements, so we said money, mindsets, leadership being seen and being heard. And the 4th one which I it's eluding me now but. Anyhow, those elements I think what's important is to recognize about our self just because of the self worth is that a lot of that stuff we didn't. It's not like it like our fault so to speak. It's like that stuff that we learned through, whether it be probably mostly our parents believes or our guardians or whoever was around when we were

younger, because that's where the subconscious has developed in their early years of life and also just the systems or the institutions that are supporting. If that's the right word, us or the youth is they're they're re reinforcing or enabling some of those beliefs to be true as well. So exiting or becoming into an entrepreneurial state is kind of like leaving the matrix and.

You need to kind of go through it a little bit in order to kind of UN not necessarily undo but maybe smooth out some of those edges that oh. My God, I mean, for me, choosing to be an entrepreneur is choosing freedom. It will come with an initiation. I'm not going to say cost an initiation, but it's a path of self mastery and expansion.

And also for me, we are a generation who is shifting the paradigm. And yes, our parents were coming from a certain paradigm, that's for sure, with certain wounds and belief about money, about success, you know, And we are deconstructing all that. So of course it's not always a walk in the park, right? Like to be a tipping point.

Yeah. But I I think I, I enjoy it. I enjoy it. I enjoy being able to be like, but what if I don't want to do it this way? What if what's calling me is that what if I want to have a life that feels juicy and expensive and I bonded and I don't want to be in contraction and feeling like life is a struggle, right? And and so in that sense there is such there is such an invitation to start operating at a completely different paradigm right where the relationship

with money like I'll give you an example, life is a struggle. That was a big shift for me coming from mom that colonization stopped. She was 16 years old. She went to France. She study. She became a dentist. My dad became like a accountant.

They work hard open their practices in Africa and started doing well. But we all we're coming from a survival and scarcity and struggle energy. And then I'm like, no, I want to travel the world. And I don't want to be a banker. I want to be a stylist.

And then I'm doing medicine. I'm a healer. It's like what the she's doing, you know? And and I can understand that and I can honor that. But I'm also like, yeah, this is, this is what I want to create. And what I know is possible.

I might not have all the tools, but I'm building and I'm evolving. And the more I do that, the more I'm accessing what I felt is possible, you know? So there isn't. It's a creative journey and it's also journeying of dreaming of what is possible and then trusting yourself and making it happen.

And I think it comes full circle with one of the first things that you said is that it becomes a lot easier when you're surrounded by a community of people who are either going through the same thing, have gone through the same thing, or can basically validate. The challenges, because they're all real and they're not special to each person.

Everyone goes through them, I know, but but you know when we get in our own entrepreneurial, like I'm doing this by myself, you know, I have the freedom. It's like if you surround yourself with people or you find groups or any kind of communities that can help to whether it be networking, supporting, sure. But it's really more so just about like seeing like, you're not the only one I say to people don't do it alone. Yeah, I have had, when I was in

the USI have my community of had community, a group of entrepreneur. And then I had a group of like feminine practitioners and it was two different group, but there was support, There was exchanging, brainstorming, bouncing ideas of each other. And then I arrived in Dubai and there was none of that for four or five years.

I can tell you that this is where I had my burnout. This is why I felt overwhelmed. I didn't have community, so if there is one advice I want to give to anyone, win entrepreneurship. Short journey, don't do it alone. Doesn't mean that you want to be asking it every time you need to make a decision in your business. You need to ask someone or whatever know. But have a community that can support you for that process, you know?

Yeah, I would say if you got anything out of this podcast, it's that, yes. Whether it be mentorship or just, you know, colleagues or peers. Yeah, peers, mentorship, colleagues. lot. But having just people to talk to? Super important. Yeah, yeah. That's beautiful. Okay. Great. So thank you for all that. That was really beautiful. And I think we jumped around a little bit, but I think we packaged it pretty decently at the end there.
