1:08 Thank you so much. Welcome to the Rat Race Rebellion podcast. My name is Paul tier. Do I am your host for the day and I am so excited to bring to you. Rhonda Swan, who was one third of the Unstoppable, family amazing, amazing family of nomadic entrepreneurs, that are traveling the world.

1:28 It's a mother, a father Other and their daughter and just incredible people that I've met since living in Bali. Rhonda, thank you. I thank you, Paul. So great to be here. Awesome, so you fit in our Dynamic, our prototype for what a rat race Rebel is you left the United States? How many years ago, 12 12 years ago with a one-year-old girl. Yeah, and you left it kind of without a real plan correct other than just to travel.

2:00 Yeah, I was actually a lot bigger than that one. We had a lot. There was a lot going on that we had no idea of what was going to happen, because you talk about Rat Race. Well, my husband Brian, and I actually met surfing 22 years ago, in the water, in San Diego, mazes like you know, divine intervention, we meet surfing.

2:17 It's like this beautiful love story. However, and I thought it was kind of annoying in the beginning because he's the surfer and I'm like, all of tight. He's like, hey, you want to talk like, oh my goodness? Well, of course, now it's been 22 years later. I think he did a good job.

2:29 Yeah. Well. Maybe he liked you. Maybe he was a little nervous because he likes you a lot. Yeah, that was back when we were 24 and 25 and so yeah, we built a life in San Diego started. Actually I was a Brian was a robotics engineer and I work for a large pharmaceutical company, a Fortune 100 company.

2:50 I ran half a billion dollar advertising campaigns every year and was being groomed to actually run the whole Western Division of this company. Interesting. Because, you know, I only did what Society was basically telling me to do, right? Which was get my MBA, get a really great job. So I wasn't even thinking about the industry until of course, what I know now, how Pharmaceuticals. So I just wanted to grow into this big corporate environment. Yeah.

3:18 And that's what I did. We Brian and I met robotics engineer rights. Like so to be this perfect, we meet in California. Big businesses. Are, you know, we're growing our company, our jobs are as employees with Big companies, buy our first house, real estate Investments. Like this is in what 0456 we couldn't lose, right? Yeah, real estate.

3:40 I worked in real estate. Actually it in 04, 05 06 and then I left real estate in 06 right before you are smart one. Yeah, well, we started tapping heavier into it at that time and I had this this kind of a wakening as to why we actually started to travel because I thought that I was a runt Big division of this company and one day, a woman, put a baby in daycare. It was a six week old baby.

4:07 She dropped her baby off at daycare and she comes to our Monday morning meeting. So here I am sitting like, you know, you're going to be a father really soon, right? So, imagine here on this hard, corporate woman, I boss, you know, I want to be just like hers like that, perfect bobbed hair, do the shoes match the bag, you know?

4:24 And she's running this big Division and that's why I thought I should be. And so here we are sitting this meeting. I'm sure your Your followers will resonate, especially if their parents and this woman, she literally snuck in late and this meeting.

4:37 And my boss is, like, you could see the flame, like you're late. Yeah. Why are you late in the woman stood there? And she just started to shudders. I'm so sorry. I dropped my six-week off baby off at daycare and it was really, really hard. I'm just first time back at work six weeks, six weeks. So young too young.

4:55 Yeah, to Young. Absolute right? Like, Jess to. Yeah, and I'm sitting there and I went ENT. Like I'm feeling what this woman is feeling. Yeah, and she sits down my boss is like, if you want to have this job, if you want to put food on this Baby's plate, you better be at work and you better be on time. Wow, talk about really taking the fear of you need to be in The Matrix.

5:21 Yeah, do not. Think about leaving the Matrix and it's creating the sense of like lack and fear and fear, you need me. It was, it was horrible. and I sat there, and I just went Whoa is this who I'm going to be for other women? Yeah.

5:38 Like the my mother was home with me, you know? But I wanted to be opposite, right? I wanted to record because my mom was a stay-at-home mom. Yes I didn't think you could have it all. Yeah I think we weren't too. Were not talk to believe that, right? We're taught to believe in work hard. Get a new job or get a good job you know like you push the grind down.

5:56 Yeah. And so that moment shifted for me. Absolutely. You said that was like the first have you had you before then? Had you begin to? You think entrepreneurially or were you more like, very much in the corporate funnel? Well, I was really more corporate.

6:10 However, I was a sold. I was my very first job in, like, fourth grade. I was an entrepreneur and I used to sell sugar packets to kids in class. I took Kool-Aid paper boxes. Yeah. Over 25 cents. I was like a real drug dealer.

6:29 Nice grade. Yeah you're selling sugar. That's the set is the drug actually. Yeah spell it. There's Chris the most dangerous jobs plan up. I mean, it was a great business. I mean, I met like two bucks a week, so I had my already had my feeling of what it was like to be an entrepreneur, but I was told like my parents. Yeah, you know, they like, you have to get a good job. My dad was a fireman.

6:48 My biological father was a drug addict. So it was a complete, you know, kind of a nobody. So I'm like, I got to do something for my family. Yeah. Right. And that's really what I was doing. Mom was a stay-at-home mom. So I would down that track, but then once I saw this woman, You know, this happening in like whoa, something's got to change and Brian and I had just got married, we had just bought a five-bedroom house in, you know, Northern Bank in San Diego. Yeah, and I came home, I go, I'm

7:15 quitting my job, good for you. And he's like, what are you crazy? Yeah. Like yeah, I something just happened for me and I can't be this person and he's like, you're not. So there's no way like I can't pay for this house, you know?

7:28 And we need your salaries at that time. We're making multiple six figures. Yeah. And I was like, yeah, I'm going to figure something out. I can't be this person and it was weird because I was, I didn't even think about having kids. I didn't want kids, it's time.

7:39 I was just so corporate. But something shifted in My DNA that moment and I, you know, call it, you know, that feminine drive or that just, you know, that maternal effect that just came through to me. And that energy is like, whoa, you know, I brought in this planet for a different reason.

7:54 Yeah, I think that as a yoga and meditation a person, I think, when a person gets that little Glimpse their first little Spiritual Awakening have, I think what? Is it becomes incredibly uncomfortable to do anything in authentic that you can't even can't do it.

8:10 I couldn't do it. Exactly Brian's like no you what are you doing? I said you don't understand. I cannot be this person anymore. Like I felt like I walked out of my body and just became a complete like my spirit just detach from that person. I thought I was.

8:25 And as you would know, the moment you put it out to the universe and you asked for it. The it just conspires in Your favor, right? So, of course, I'm like, looking online searching for, you know, ways to work at home. I would never expect to Type in work at home.

8:41 Mom like that wasn't even my mojo. Yeah, at all. And sure enough, that's what I did and all these different sites. Pull up and this video of Steve's job actually pulls up, and it was an interview with Steve and he was talking about the internet and he's like, look in the next 15 years which is right now. Yeah, if you are, that's just blew me away. Just now, The next 15 years.

9:06 Exactly. 15 years later. I quit my job on January 0 for 16 years later 16 years. Yeah. So he's like you know, if you're not looking online you're not looking to build something or understanding, what this online space is you will not survive, like, you will not survive.

9:25 Yeah. Unless you're a farmer, like it was, it was like, so defined, right? Unless you are going to work in agriculture, or be a farmer, Are you can't even still do that like you still need information, right? It's yeah. It's almost impossible. Nowadays possible to have an a business, without a doubt line present.

9:42 It just impossible and online. Presence doesn't have to be your entire business, but it's going to be a significant portion of how you. Yeah, your brand to the world. Yeah, that's it. And I just clicked for me and he's like, you need to start finding ways and other other models in ways that you can start leveraging it.

9:59 And that's what I started to do. So I searched again, kept searching what our online business. Like franchises. I mean, I looked at everything and I ran into this company. It was a personal development company. So I played softball as a very young person for the Women's u.s.

10:14 National Team all the way up into the Olympics. So I was already Peak Performing and thinking in different ways, right? Very personal development oriented and I found a company that was all based on personal development. I was selling products for Bob Proctor, you know, dr. John demartini, Joe dispenza amazing. Yeah.

10:33 I like epic people that we love and they were just getting going back then. Yeah. Right. Yeah exactly. Spencer was just very about practice till it was a Zig Ziglar Bob Proctor, Jim Rohn. And it was this program that was all put together by all these thought leaders.

10:48 Beautiful. And I was like, whoa, this looks really awesome. If so what you're telling me I call this woman it wasn't like a really bad website, right? It was just like words and it was call here. Like it was a website with the 800-number.

10:59 Yeah. That doesn't make any sense but I still called. Yeah it was a picture. Woman with four kids and said I was a waitress and I make 40K a month. I do it. No, that's ridiculous. Like, you know, there's a lot of Skeptics now and it's a lot easier.

11:12 Now even back then it was like right new and here I am this corporate executive going. I'm just going to give this thing a call. So I'm like hiding to give this woman a call because it's like we were saying earlier it's like that Matrix really want to its preconditions to tell you that.

11:28 That's not, that's not okay, it's not possible, it's this dreamlike life or it happens to people. Either it's like an act of God or its people that are already rich, right. Exactly already have like Rich parents or something, but it doesn't have to be that way at all. Yeah, and that's what happened and she's like. Yeah, you know, it's great company. It's brand new and I'm making about 40K a month because I'm selling.

11:50 This product is 1,500 bucks. I make a thousand and five hundred goes the company in line. So I didn't know this is this was a filly. It marketing company was a direct sales company. I don't know anything about these models.

12:01 Yeah nothing about that. Sounds pretty easy. I like the Sup and boom, that's what happened. I literally went back to Brian is like, found something. He goes, you're crazy. I said no, no, no. This is I'm gonna do this, right?

12:11 Yeah. But to do it and that's what happened. I mean fast forward, I jumped straight in had zero sales. I called three thousand leads. The first three months perseverance is one of the most like important qualities. That you have to have capacity and perseverance. Yeah.

12:26 Perseverance is everything. And a drive in a way to do it. I wanted out of my job. Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. Right. Sounds like I'm willing to do it. If this is, this could get me out because someone had already proven that was possible, that's so great. And you kept hearing, no, no, no, I'm still and no eyes. It's so good for you though.

12:43 Yeah it's so necessary to really develop that, you know, like they say sometimes to stay like keep your heart open but have thick skin. Yeah yeah. Did humble need that? Well, humbling for me was the big one because here I am this big corporate executive, right?

12:59 I was all like 25 years old making six figures and I'm calling For trying to sell them, a personal development Paradigm just change their life. Yeah and what happened in this is when it shifted and I went to one of my mentors, I had a big event and I actually brought Brian to this event, which is hilarious, because I'm like, we're going to Cancun.

13:19 Mexico is like yes we're going to spring break actually, it's a business event that is invested like 15K into this thing. These like what are you doing? And I went up to one of the mentors he said, look, it's not working for me, I can.

13:33 Cell. I'm that's what I do. Yeah, and it doesn't work. He's like, well, what are you doing? When thinking about when you call these people? I was like, I want to make thousand dollars. He's like, that's your problem. Yeah. You're putting dollar signs on these people's foreheads. There's lives behind this phone.

13:48 These, you want a better life, like you want a better life, help them get that, that changed everything about what I was doing, that's so powerful. It's so true. It's what we have to, we don't even, don't even worry about Money as long as we're providing a value.

14:06 And and really coming from a place of like, same thing with my yoga retreats, as I was sharing. Yeah, I can look anyone in the eye and be like, come on. One of my Retreats will go to Tuscany for a week by the end of it. It will be transferring last.

14:20 Yeah, it'll transform your life, and you will remember it for the rest of your life and you will leave with friends from all over the world. And you can say it with the truest heart and authenticity saying, exactly. And that. Yeah, that's what happened.

14:30 And then it became, you know, now, Now I've realized these people, I'm speaking with they got kids to, they got kids, they want to be home with her kids. And like listen this will chance, you know, and I was and then it just boo.

14:42 Boo, 37k. Within 30 days. Wow. And Brian's like what have you got to be? Kidding me. Yeah, I quit my job. Three months later was like boom, boom, boom, just kept building. I retired him a year later. Replaced. Both of our incomes within one year and we were crushing it, right? Like life was amazing and then this is right when those seven And so to hit one of our friends, like guys were doing a big real estate development.

15:08 You know, we're looking for investors reliable. Yeah, we're super cat. Yeah, let's do it. Well, we put everything in and as they said in 2006-2007 real estate market, never goes to never goes down in, Southern California. Yeah, exactly.

15:21 I mean our first house he made a half a million. Second house. 250,000 cash like easy. Yeah. Well, sure enough, right. When we thought it was easy is when the moment that God Universe wanted to let us know that we We were not ready.

15:34 Yeah and we literally gave everything. Our nest eggs are IRAs to drain them, Brian's Dad's life, insurance policy drained. It were like, we're going to change our life, our family's life and we're preparing for a baby. Yeah, it's just because I thought having money, which I didn't have before, with my parents. I let growing up.

15:54 If I have money and I have wealth. I'll bring a baby into this world as a completely safe environment. Yeah, I'll create everything the American dream. Umm yeah and Hanalei K my daughter who's now 13? She came 33 days early because we had found out three months before that we had lost it all and here we are living in a 1.7 million dollar home to Mercedes Escalade. All this stuff Deepak Chopra drove by our house to go home. Like in that same area to

16:26 nothing to I'm sorry swans. But you signed your name off? To all these homes. And this man has taken it all. And we had a developer that actually was one of the biggest frauds in 07 real estate. And so, that's that story is what brings us into November 25th.

16:45 We left 12 years ago from San Diego, to start traveling the world. So being that you were able to respond to this consciously and now you have a life, that's even better. Would you say that it was the best thing that ever happened? Oh my goodness.

16:58 You don't know anything moment. You don't realize the moment your Thinking you know what have we done? We've made a horrible decisions. Like you're beating yourself up and you're so second-guessing everything right. I mean, we couldn't even afford a Skype credit at that time, because our business was starting to become Run online.

17:17 Brian buys a five dollar burrito and they charge us $35 for it because it went over charged overcharge, right? He's overcharged or like what 50 degrees under $40 burrito, what is going on from people that literally had physical millions in the bank? And you can look at our bank account. There's millions of dollars in assets and physical cash to. I can't buy a five dollar burrito. You want to talk about the identity shift, who are we now? And now I'm pregnant.

17:43 Yeah, and I'm going to have a baby, this was probably one of the most redefining moments in our life. And when Hanalei came early, I was so guilty. I thought that my stress levels, I had done this, I brought her early, she was, you know, preemie, I couldn't have her at home because she's three days to early California law to have.

18:01 Her at home because 33 days three days earlier. And so here, I've got to go to a hospital and fighting The Matrix again. I'm like don't touch me. No medicine in my baby, I want nothing, just leave me alone. All of you like it was great night.

18:18 Just leave me alone. It was insane. It was wild. You know what? I was one of the first women that actually gave a natural birth in La. Hoya's Hospital, there's Scripps Memorial. They're like, what did you just do? Yeah. 15 18, 20 hours later.

18:32 But what happened in the to your question is. Yeah, it was the best thing that I've ever happened to us. And we were having such a hard time with it because we thought we were so attached to the money. And, you know, we were like, gosh, how are we going to snap back? You know, here we are trying to rebuild. And how are you supposed to sell Prosperity? Conscious products to people?

18:52 Yeah, when you are in poverty conscious, yeah, you're not prosperous anymore. So, oddly enough we because we're in San Diego. Deepak has a radio station that he would Run, every Saturday, Deepak radio. Sure enough. We're sitting there and we're like, distraught. We're just wonder what we're going to do. Brand new baby in our hand.

19:09 I'm looking at her going to I made a vow to. You should never put you in daycare. Like that was my vow. It's why I did this. And we're considering going back and getting jobs, you know, I've got a master's degree. I could pick up six figures like this friends, family. Like okay, the internet thing was fun guys. Get over it.

19:25 You had your year-and-a-half be responsible. You've got a baby go back and get your job. Yeah. And Deepak radio comes and says we got Wayne Dyer on today, change your thoughts, change your life and he's talking about his book.

19:38 If you want to call in and ask a question of Wayne and Deepak Brian's like oh yeah, do it, picks the phone. Hi, you're on with wait until we have the recording, it's on YouTube. You can look up on Supple family. Deepak Chopra Wayne Dyer and I asked them. The question I said, guys, you know, thank you about change your thoughts, change your reality, change your mind, you know, your life.

20:01 I just what happened to us, explained it, I said we just can't get through it. Like, it is holding onto us. We don't want it to or meditating. We're trying to get through it. We can't get through it. It's holding us and Wayne goes well, you keep talking about it, why are you letting it control you?

20:13 Yeah, it is not you. It is the thing that that yeah, you might have given up your money but you ever considered realizing that you did it and that it's not this guy's fault, it's not it's fault, it's yours and just forgive this guy and know that you took the action. To stop being attached to being, right? We're like shrink the ego.

20:35 Oh, Wayne Dyer. I don't know if I like you anymore, right. Like what he owed are you, there's a statement put down the magnifying glass and look in the mirror. It's it. And it's, and I think it's, I think it's a very common thing for somebody like yourself and Brian who obviously have a real gift, a real talent, and your talent begins to actualize itself in. They 20s.

21:01 Yeah. When your ego is still very much in the driver's seat. Yeah. Yeah. So when you take that Talent with the ego it's literally going to take you 200 miles an hour straight into a brick wall. That's it. That's it. Still have your talent in your gift and it sounds like you just had to learn to shift your attitude and also why did this happen?

21:21 So it's like, how can you repurpose what you're doing to help more people and be more in alignment with your soul and that's what it was. Does it mean when Wayne Dyer said that we looked at ourselves Like Whoa, We are attached to the money like we're attached to all this stuff.

21:39 Wait a minute. This stuff is not going to make me a better woman or a better mother. The money in my bank account, doesn't make me a better person of the world. It doesn't make us better parents, and it was like, so humbling, but we realized that we just weren't ready for it. The ego was to aligned with the momentum and Lll that the moment we lost it.

22:03 We had to get, we had to look at ourselves and it does not see the moment we said. All right we're going to just let it all go. Yeah, all of it. None of this stuff. None of it makes us who we are. We fire sailed everything. Fires held at all.

22:21 We had people ransacking, our beautiful Crystal over suffer like it's yours. Take it. Yeah, we left on November 25th, 2008. Eight with twelve thousand, eight hundred, sixty two dollars and 72 cents left to our name. Wow, that's even less than I had when I left and I thought I was a broke yoga teacher.

22:41 Yeah, we thought we were Rich smart parents. Yeah, at that point. Yeah. Because your alignment, your attitude is shifted. Yeah, totally. That's incredible. It was, yeah, it was very humbling. It was beautiful scary. Still she was holiday was just, he's just Three-year-old just a year old and yeah we left and went directly to Hanalei Bay Kawaii where she was named after where we were married and we started and we've never turned back. That's amazing.

23:13 So what were some of the first things that you did to rebuild your confidence in to know that what you're going to build this time was going to be in alignment with who you are? Who Brian is? And who your family? Yeah. How did you rebuild that the first step was getting out of the environment, right?

23:30 Because we had so So many people like, I mean, Brian's? Best friend is like, bro, stop it. Just get real. Listen, go back and your job, be a man. Like he's doing this, like, be a manual baby, like all this. So we had to get out of that environment. And, you know, I mean, everyone was happy because they're like we told you so this internet thing was never going to work anyways.

23:50 So all that was happening. So the moment that we left was like, okay, no one knows us. So even if ego was trying to get the weight couldn't because we actually could be who we wanted to be. It could be our true authentic self. And we just got a little Shack by the beach. So we could go and surf every day. Keep ourselves in a good emotion and not just in vibration and we just started to tell our story and this is when I got really heavy and video because social

24:16 media wasn't around when I built my company the first time not until 2008. So right when we laughed YouTube and Facebook came out, so I was one of the first and I would do armbar videos everyday day. A one of in Sabah family certainly wasn't in South family then you know of this journey and we just heard document it and I sort of being authentic for the first time telling a truthful story that wasn't contrived or marketing, right? Like true authentic story and it

24:46 was like, blocking like we couldn't stop it. People are just like, whoa, I've thanked you for that. I want this product. This is what you'd what are you doing in the program that we had was about creating a perfect day about visualizing your life. It was about Proctor.

25:00 All the stuff that everyone was really getting into and things just started to really just to grow from there and that. So that was the first step, right? And so that first month we actually made 5K, which we were used to make like, you know, 40 50 Grand a month?

25:14 Well, I hope so that was like, like the first 5k is like, oh my gosh, like this is huge. It was a probably, we do it in probably a more meaning for my exam 40K that was last week ego. That's, that's exactly right. Like, it was so we would do The happy dance were like, yeah, and her leg was like jobs.

25:35 Like, it was like that, we just knew we were in the right alignment and and that's how we did it. We just kept staying very authentic obviously video helps, right? Social media star, expand your became marketers, but marketers in a true authentic, passion-driven. Way that was really there to help people. Yeah, that's so beautiful.

25:53 Okay, so that after Hawaii, that you're just getting started, man. That was 12 years ago since then. We've been to 50. Seven different countries, you know, lived in Central and South America through Panama Brazil, I mean, Costa Rica.

26:09 Yeah, all over. And I malaise been grown up in a third world country and seeing other children that actually don't have much. And every country we have traveled to you, we would give away everything we owned. So every country would leave she would give it all away to the children, and we would give it all the way to the families.

26:25 So that we would just start over with a just like the one bag. Yeah, we'll start over because we knew Every time we started over, we were humbled again. Yeah, we had given back we created this cycle of giving that just out radiating, blow up our heart. That's so beautiful it down.

26:41 The next question I was going to ask you, is how do you now that your success? Now that your business has grown in your very successful again? How do you not let the ego back in the driver's seat? Because it's always trying to get in the driver's seat, you know?

26:53 But by again wiping the Slate clean and making sure that you're giving and I think it's, you know, it's a really beautiful thing that liveth Here in Bali and it's a third world country. But it's a first world happiness. Yeah.

27:06 So you see these children walking around and they're so happy and they're playing and they're Lively and they smile and it's just a beautiful reminder, that you don't need a lot of, don't need a lot. And unfortunately, that rat race is a very toxic environment. Wow.

27:29 And there's so many people That are that are that's because the stock is all these Illusions right away. Stuck in this this illusion and this Dogma that, you know, they've got to be this person and show up and everyone's wearing a mask. Yes, you know.

27:41 And it there's so many things that I started to notice that my daughter was going to witness, right? The objectification of the feminine like Bond of. Look at music right now. Look at media, the stuff that they do and girls now and social media are thinking that they're objects and they're looking being looked upon that.

27:58 Way of like this is not how it should be. So, Third world countries. You really start to see the soul people, right? And you know, that the happiness comes from Pure truth because they don't have any thing more that is, you know, Miss directing their attention and sometimes it's just cluttered, he acts like, it's just your client. Like you said, you were cluttering your life. The Mercedes a massive house and all of these things that you said, this is me.

28:22 That's who I am. I'm a person who I'm the type of person who lives in this type of house and drives this traffic starring. Those of this golf course. All of these things. Things and I was the same way. Yeah I bought my beam out of working in real estate making great money. Six figures at a very young age.

28:38 Bought a beamer you know I was like driving around 23. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. The I can totally relate to your story so much and and the falling flat on my ass. Yeah. And having it be the most meaningful thing that I've ever done. Yeah.

28:55 And I think, you know, when lay on my wife and I when we moved here, it was the scariest thing I've ever. Done. And the best thing of? Yeah. And usually the best thing we ever do is something that higher terrifying that was confronting, you know. And yeah so now you know we started building our company and a very Soul driven, right?

29:16 Really very connected. It was all about connection and value and, you know, none of this it allowing the social, you know, just that that Outsource like energies to force you to thinking that you were Doing something wrong because we were really judged. And so we were navigating that way and we were always quite quiet about it because you speak you know, when your lightworkers navigating through the world doing Bigger than greater things. 30:03 Yeah. You know and hahnel. He's never been sick. I was, he's always, you know, we stayed very connected family were very spiritual in our American, Indian Heritage background and so we're very connected to, you know, to not only source but just to just being good people. Yeah.

30:19 Just keeping the goodness and staying humble was, he's so cute. Here's a here's a question. Now that your brand has grown in your definitely both of your influences. And your daughters and influence or the more, the more awareness that your brand has.

30:36 The more you might be susceptible to criticisms. Yeah. How do you balance out? Not letting negativity affect you, but at the same time, staying perceptive enough to be able to listen to constructive criticism, which from somebody that you respect is always necessary at like, when we have to remain teachable.

30:57 Yeah, of course we done. So we've got To a Brand's. There's four of them on several families that are umbrella. Yeah, that's a travel Grant. That's kind of like the heart and soul of what, we do my agencies and stubble branding agency, where we work with brands, have them develop those soldiers and messages. So driven products I've launched 147 different brands and products last two years alone, helping clients get published in PR media Forbes, entrepreneur

31:22 Brian's got an unsolvable Surfer. So he's got a beard product is doing Retreats for surfing men. That love their life, love their wife and want to surf and leave impact. T' Hanalei is a fashion designer, right? So we've got all this stuff going on. So we get a lot right of people like, who do you guys think you are right?

31:38 Like you know, you think you're better than us and we always use it as a mere for them. Yeah. Right. To say, I'm really sorry that you're hurt that you know that you don't realize this is an option for you. Yeah. I think that's a lot of time than what it really is.

31:53 Is people. Yeah. Are scared and they want. It was like, it's like the movie, The Pursuit of Happyness. Yeah. When Will Smith. To his to his kids. Say when he's like people can't do something themselves, they want to bring you down and make you think that you can.

32:08 But really what you're trying to do is tell people to lift it, lift it up, and a life of our dreams is possible and it's not easy, it's not easy but it's the difference is the life of your dreams is what you want it to be, you know?

32:23 And that's the difference like never compare and that was one thing that was hard in the beginning is here we are. We're used to having this epic life, right? That we thought was epic because money was around it and then here we are Hawaii and all of a sudden were having this epic life. And then you start to know people and then you're like, oh, I can't go to dinner there because we really can't afford it right now, right?

32:43 So then you like started having this. Now the identity starting to come in again and then you just have to keep going back. And really checking what is important like who am I? And so that's I think what happens is so many people, they just they would rather not look at the light and they'd rather just, you know, dim it down.

33:00 We just a really open say, you know, I'm sorry you feel that way. Yeah. We got to choose and so can you? Yeah. Yeah we just did. I'm going to choose to be happy about your statement right now. Yeah. So keep throwing them at me and then people don't like that.

33:12 Right. But they do shut up or they listen they listen. They stopped. Yeah. But that's the thing to sometimes you actually crack it open with that. You're right. Maybe this is about yeah, it's not about. Yeah. We still don't talk to are really close friends.

33:26 Yeah you know which is probably just really confronting because I don't We thought that they were kind of shunning us. However, we probably were jerks. Yeah. We probably were. Yeah. Because I think I agree. I think in my early 20s or sorry my late 20s early 30s. I definitely had this sense of superiority. Yeah.

33:44 Or it's like if you're in the if you're in the you know if you're working a nine-to-five like your kind of a you know a loser or whatever and that's not true at all. Like for some people like that it's that is their path and they love it. And there's a security and stability that comes to me when they find their Actions outside of work. So I used to I totally used to have like that judgmental arrogant attitude and I've really been humbled by that just recognizing like it's not my job

34:12 to tell anybody what to do with their life you know at all. Yes they're asking me like that's it. They're struggling. No one wants. Your advice is want you to be there for them to support them and I think that we probably had we probably were jerks fact that and I read the story was more ego.

34:26 Yeah. And so they kind of gave that back to us. And now sometimes I think that it's harder for People just to Everton at than re accepted even though you can change. So that's that that's hard a bit for us at times my gosh, you know, we had such great friendships with people and but that's okay.

34:40 That's what life is. Yeah, it's a movie. Some people come in your scene for you. No one seen some come for the whole movie. Yeah, I'll just come in and out but it's all a lesson it and that's how we've been able to navigate and with Hanalei, helping her really see. Because there are a lot of people that go in and out of our Lives special when you travel.

34:56 Yeah. But it means make meaningful relationships, it meaningful. It is right now. Absolutely, you know? And it's such a gift to be able to say like after you've lived the life that you've lived and I've been to 32 33 countries, I know what that's like.

35:12 I don't have people that I see consistently but I have deep meaningful relationships from people but people from all over the world, isn't it amazing? It's absolutely correct. Genes are Fijian. Friends of worked at the hotel that we lived at. Yeah.

So the FaceTime or they send messages, or on your lives were like This is like the guys from Fiji, like, it's so great to think that you leave that kind of impact on people's lives and you can keep friendships, and that was part of everyone's fear that Hanalei wouldn't have friends. Yeah, and she's got deep rooted friendships with people from all over the world because they can, they grew up in social media? Yeah, you know, they grew up in

35:48 this information age that you may know how to use it, positively exactly. Yeah, that's great. Yeah, so maintaining these meaningful relationships with people all over the all over the world. Would you say that? One of the greatest gifts that he's given your daughter is being exposed to people from different cultures has such a positive impact on reducing ignorance Prejudice racism. It's like, it's for me, it's like I live in an Asian country. I live in a with this, with

36:22 them, in a Muslim country, people have like, very ignorant ideas. About like, what, what, what? What Islam is They think it's this dangerous thing and then you go to like, Indonesia and Malaysia Singapore areas. Where there's lots of Muslims. I've been to Egypt, I've been to the level of respect and kindness that have been treated with. And yeah, she didn't even really understand that there was different races.

36:52 Her uncle uncle jabril. She would go. What am I going to be? As tan as uncle jabril, right? He's from Kenya. Right, and she's known for all her life and so, yeah, I think that kids they don't see, we put these Impressions on them, that you know, all black people are bad, you know, Muslims are dangerous, that's all just what's put on by Society but when a child lives it and they still don't learn through a textbook, learn to the news or learn from influences from their family or, you know, limiting

37:26 beliefs from others. They just see it for what it is. And yeah, she's Is she really doesn't see Ray? She's always been a minority. She's been on minority. They're all her life. She's a white blond. I you know, blonde hair, blue-eyed girl, in third world countries. Yeah, that's yeah.

37:41 That's that's such a great Point. Yeah, when you said with Americans was, unfortunately, a lot of Americans don't travel enough. One of the actual intentions about entire podcast is during this whole lockdown where there's so many restrictions on travel, I want to keep people enthusiastic about Traveling the world and getting outside of our comfort zone, and I think if there's anything particularly that are that are country, that America needs right now and he's more people, traveling, more

38:10 people seeing, like what works in different cultures, what works like different ideas and how that can just keep us from being in some ways. Isolated, you know, it's a big country and I think the statistics are only 30 percent of Americans have passports. And of those thirty percent half of them only go to Canada, Mexico, and Jamaica.

38:35 Yeah. So like the really there's there's so much more of the world to see and yeah yeah I mean I hope that you know, that this does shift the what's happening with people's mindsets. I mean, you know, it may encourage people to travel within their own country, you know, which is unfortunate because of, you know, there's so much fear base right now in the world is in such Fear and this has been predicted, you know 25 years ago we were just working towards how do we shrink the

39:06 mines, shrink their health you know, scare them fear-based them enough so that we can control them. However, I know of you that are watching your show they're awake like the get out of it and be the one because you will then have a much more enriched in fulfilling lifestyle and allow the others to, you know, to be the ones that stay back.

39:26 I mean that's that's just becoming our reality and we are going to have a If Ty believe on this planet with those that are more self-aware, they're more of self actualized and we're realizing now if we don't get our mind out of that Gutter and you know, an out of the media, you know, we will get it, it's just a matter of time. It's like locking someone up in a, you know, in a Cell that's got a very strong mind.

So we've got to constantly be aware and battling that and staying out staying light and, and Thing, and I think that's, that's what's going to shift the Consciousness. I mean, there's more so many more people are becoming more aware of the garbage.

40:06 It's happening because the Illusions are now. It's like the Matrix is glitching because we keep seeing it showing up a politics can show it up. Yeah. So it's like, see you. I know you're there. Yeah. So now we then are getting the power back.

40:18 Absolutely. And I really hope that those that are are aware of that will start to travel and see the world as it is and know that all this, you know, this fake illusion about these other countries as really not real at all. It's exactly if it's real.

40:32 It's so human beings have babies. Yeah? Right. Women that are giving birth and that are our prey, the mother earth, and are creating goodness around their family. They don't want to hurt you. Yeah, you know how sad I was, people always say like, when everything started locking down, like you better come home, I'm like, are you kidding me?

40:51 Any idea like, how do you feel? I feel so safe. Oh my goodness. Yeah. Lee hasn't shifted much for us. Yeah, really hasn't it. It's just such a beautiful thing to be and to recognize me out so many other cultures that were taught to be like be afraid.

41:12 You're in like all these areas and it's not paying for don't travel here and then you go there like the Philippines I'm just filled so I could make some amazing beautiful people. Yeah, it's it's unfortunate but it's nice that we can use these platforms to kind of break apart that ignorant people.

41:28 Yeah, yeah. Cool. So let's talk about just specifically because I know you're really you're really passionate about this. If somebody comes to you, let's say they have a brand that they've been working on for a few years and it's slightly profitable. I think really.

41:43 That's kind of what you do is you help them go to the next level? Yeah, correct. Yeah. I mean, our my tagline, if you will, as we create sexy Brands and turn them into profit, making machines, amazing. Yeah, I know how to find my hidden profit Pockets whether it's in a sales process or in their just their sales, you know.

42:00 Their products like whether they need to prioritize their knowledge, they need to monetize better create automation, how do they expand? So that's really what I do best. You know, is help people see what they're doing and then expand on it. And then once they've now elevated not only the brand image message and strategy, so I'm really about positioning right position.

42:18 The brand has the expert go from being, the world's best kept secret and the world's known expert. And that means people have to start doing things a little bit differently, right? They have to show up differently but must have to be clear and clean and then of course we Them into PR and also the world gets to see it in a bigger light.

42:34 And what would you say is the most common limiting belief that you see with somebody that comes to you? Yeah. It's probably like one thing that usually doesn't. Most people think that someone we always say, you know, change of price point, it's not working for the masses and work for the ones that truly can really benefit from your work, but that also means increasing your value. Yeah, increasing your value, increasing your price point and they usually don't believe that

42:58 someone would pay it. Yeah. Right. A lot of people, Are undervalued value in themselves. Yeah. Using. Yeah. That's beautiful. Who awesome? Right. And in how she treated in the kindness that she Cade's it that she, you know, gave is really where the world needs to go.

44:21 And we're going to shift, we need to lean more heavily now on our feminine side and really start treating and loving the Earth and and those around us and treating business like that. And we can actually be incredibly prosperous without having to destroy the plan of clean without having to work to the point where were all meeting.

44:40 Yeah, you know about to go crazy needing therapy and medication or ticket by, that's it. Learn to eat healthier to eat in a way that respects the environment. Yeah, there's so many ways that you can do that. Yeah, yeah. So that's really exciting.

44:52 That book is going to be coming out early in 2021 and, you know, we're just our families just constantly providing higher levels of value that we You know, showcase and show people what we're doing next, we are doing a concert series here in Bali. We just launched a new foundation called the Royal Family Foundation here in Bali, which is an initiative to help rebuild the Palaces so that they can create a sustainable living for them.

45:16 Because the palace is here, and the royal families are not wealthy like we expect them to be right, the government really takes over so we're helping them bringing more people into the culture and helping preserve their culture, teaching the kids about plastic and removing Things from this beautiful island. So that's what a lot of my work here, especially why we've were, you know, locked in or not traveling why not help more people and that's what we've

45:39 been really working on. Consistently my daughter's writing a few new books, you know, it's like the more value we can bring in right now. This is the world Wants More Story, they want more real people, more connection. And so yeah, that's what we've been really forcing and or not forcing but you know, following through with and focusing on.

45:58 That's beautiful what comes to me. Right now is the Dalai Lama said the world will be saved by the Western woman and here you are helping all these women just go out and trailblazing. Yeah, part of some sort of the new beautiful world. When, you know, they say I was talking about talking to you about this before that, the Chinese symbol for crisis is to its two symbols, its danger and opportunity. And right now we're at a moment of just massive opportunity for the plan, my thing.
